(KIEL, WI) — A parent of one of three Kiel 8th graders at the center of a Title IX investigation of alleged sexual harassment speaks out on the school district’s decision to end the investigation. School district officials announced late Thursday that the matter is now closed.
The investigation began after the three students had allegedly not addressed another student by that student’s preferred pronouns.
In a written statement through the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, Rose Rabidoux, who son was under investigation says…in her words…”While we are glad that the District has ended its investigation, this dispute should have never been escalated to this point. We expect the Kiel Area School District to ensure that this Title IX complaint is not on my son’s record.”
That investigation led to a series of bomb threats against school buildings, the school district offices, the Kiel Police and Fire Departments, Kiel City Hall, public roads and private businesses. No suspicious devices were found after thorough searches by law enforcement and public safety crews.
Following those threats, the Kiel School District announced that classes would be conducted virtually until the school year ended. Today was the final day of classes.
