APPLETON, WI — The Appleton Area School District will be weighing other options to provide health care insurance. The district was looking into renewing coverage through WEA Member Services for 2023.
However, WEA announces it’s ending it health insurance plans after 52-years. Greg Hartjes, Chief Financial Officer for the Appleton Area School District, tells the board of education Monday that other health insurers are now being considered.
The Appleton School District wants to find a provider that will allow employees to keep their current doctors and other health care providers.
The district hopes to make a final decision on an insurance carrier by August or September.
