OSHKOSH, Wis–The Jackson and Oregon Street Bridge in Oshkosh will remain closed to traffic even longer than expected. The drawbridge has been closed since mid-May, when a routine inspection found worn gear teeth in the lift-bridge mechanism.
The company that provides the gears thought it could have one for the D-O-T to put in by the end of August. That has now been pushed back to the end of September.
One side of the draw bridge is being kept open to allow boat traffic to pass through.
