APPLETON, WI — The City of Appleton will talk further with the Trout Museum of Art’s Board of Directors on a proposal to build a new museum in the Elle Kort Peace Park. Appleton Common Council Tuesday approved a proposal to continue exploring the the feasibility of adding the museum to the public park. That would be done through a long-term lease and not a sale of any park land. Alder Denise Fenton says as the city proceeds with talks she wants to make sure full disclosure is a priority.
Alder William Siebers voted against the proposal saying he wants to make sure other options are considered.
The common council voted 9-3, with one abstention, to move forward with discussions with the Trout Museum.
