TOWN OF SEVASTOPOL, Wis. — A woman is dead following a hit-and-run crash in Door County.
The 71-year-old was walking along Gordon Road in the town of Sevastopol around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by an SUV.
The vehicle then ran off the road and crashed into a fence.
The 43-year-old Sturgeon Bay man driving the SUV reportedly ran off but was arrested a short time later.
The woman was pronounced dead at Door County Medical Center.
Criminal charges are pending.
