KAUKAUNA, Wis–A war of words is developing between Kaukauna Municipal Judge Carley Windorff and other city officials. Earlier this week, City Attorney Kevin Davidson issued a statement claiming they had referred Windorff to the Wisconsin Judicial Commission for review of her conduct in office.
The allegations included Windorff appointing her sister as interim court clerk without informing human resources officials about their familial relationship, and a Facebook post last week that city officials believed “undermined public trust in the judiciary”.
Windorff issued a statement to the Kaukauna Community News saying state statutes barred her from commenting on the case–and that Davidson was bound by the same restrictions.
Today, Davidson issued another statement saying Windorff is wrong in her interpretation of the statute:

Mayor Tony Penterman joins in the statement saying: “The concerns include conduct in office beyond nepotism and a Facebook post”.
