GREEN BAY, Wis–Green Bay City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys changes the process of observing the handling of absentee ballots in her office following a lawsuit filed this week. The suit filed by members of the Republican National Committee claimed that Jeffreys was conducting part of the absentee ballot process in her office, which was not open to election observers.
Those observers said they were not able to see the witness certification process or the placing of the ballot into the sealed box. A hearing on the complaint was held in Brown County Court today (Wednesday), where the city announced that observers were now allowed to watch the entire ballot handling process.
