Driver killed in Town of Center crash

(TOWN OF CENTER, WI) — The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in the Town of Center that kills one person. The crash took place at the intersection of County Highway S and County Highway A around 1:45 P.M. A car driven by a 58-year-old Appleton man failed to yield the right of way and collided with a pickup truck driven by a 60-year-old Shiocton man. The pickup truck driver was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. The driver of the car died at the scene. The crash closed the intersection for nearly three-and-a-half hours. Investigators say at this time it does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
