WRIGHTSTOWN, WI — A death investigation is underway in Brown County following the discovery of a body in the 2600 block of Day Street in Wrightstown. That’s where 17-year-old Daneilla Velazquez went missing late Saturday night. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday announces investigators believe the body is that of Velazquez and was found near a vehicle that went off the road. Captain David Poteat says it appears Velazquez left her vehicle.
“We know, basically, that her vehicle went off the road into a ditch on Blake Road, just south of Highway 96 ” Captain Poteat said. “Daniella did not show up for work the next morning at 10:00 A.M. A state trooper found Daniella’s vehicle about 2:30 P.M. and requested a welfare check based on the fact her shoes and phone were located outside of the vehicle. Keys and wallet were found inside the vehicle.”
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to make positive identification and cause of death. Brown County Sheriff’s Investigators are asking anyone who may have home surveillance video or may have seen someone matching Daniella’s description to share that information or video with them.
