APPLETON, WI — Incumbent Tom Nelson will face off against former county board member Kevin Sturn in the race for Outagamie County Executive. Nelson was the top vote getter in Tuesday’s primary netting 14-thousand-471 votes or 52-percent of the ballots cast. Sturn believes his business background and a positive message helped him secure the second place showing.
“People really like the positive message,” Sturn said. “And they really liked the message that this is really an office of management and administration. It’s not a political office. And that’s the biggest difference here. I’m not a politician. I’m a manager. And we need to get back to managing the county as a business and a business that the people of the county own and control.”
WHBY News reached out to Tom Nelson for comment on his primary victory, but received no immediate response.
