GREEN BAY, Wis. — Aaron Rodgers says his days in Green Bay are done.
In appearance today (Wednesday) on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers confirmed a trade deal with the New York Jets is in the works, and that the Packers do not want him back next season.
“I think since Friday I made it clear my intention is to play, and my intention is to play for the New York Jets,” Rodgers shared.
Rodgers adds that he was leaning toward retirement before his “darkness retreat” this month, but the Packers no longer wanting him is inspiring him to play again.
Rodgers says he approves of the trade and that it is the Packers holding up the deal at this point with what they want in return from the Jets.
