Dave Edwards and it’s Just my Take, 4-28-23
Quite the Monday surprise, when both Tucker Carlson of Fox News and Don Lemon of CNN were both fired within minutes of each other.
Now admittedly, with my schedule, I don’t see their shows as often as I’d like. But I catch clips, podcast sections and other highlights that give me some insight into what they’re talking about. With almost any host, I like some of what I hear, despise other portions of their chat.
Concerning Carlson, he’s overstayed his welcome. From bombastic claims to hints of racism, thumping of the Great Replacement Theory and rumored highly-questionable behavior in the building, it was time for Tucker to go.
On Lemon, it was less controversial, but not without issues on the air and elsewhere. CNN has been fruitlessly searching for individual hosts and/or combinations of hosts, most of which have failed. Lemon’s move from nights to mornings with two female co-hosts wasn’t working.
Fox may be able to fill that popular time slot fairly easily, regardless of the level of talent. CNN is another story, as their lineup flips more than a carnival juggler’s pins. Get your popcorn ready.
