GREEN BAY, WI — The Green Bay Police Department releases body camera footage of the arrest of a man with a stolen handgun, an extended magazine and marijuana. The video highlights the May 9th arrest of 24-year-old Edward Curtis of Madison. He was located by a police officer at an apartment complex on Deckner Avenue. Curtis was wanted on warrants from Dane County and was being sought for fleeing a traffic stop in Appleton. Officers attempted to take Curtis into custody, with a toddler who was a passenger. The child was taken to safety by an apartment resident. Curtis repeatedly tried to escape from officers and kicked at officers before restraints were placed on him. He’s charged with Receiving a Stolen Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Resisting an Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Possession of Marijuana. The video was released to address community concerns about police use of restraints.
