APPLETON, Wis. — The owners of a downtown Appleton bar detail why they will not participate in Mile of Music anymore.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Deja Vu Martini Bar Co-owner Kelly Koroll says the limited amount of increased revenue generated by the music fans during the four-day event is not worth the mental and physical toll on their staff. In addition, Koroll claims that Mile attendees harass and abuse waitstaff and have even damaged the building.
Koroll suggests that Mile of Music start charging fees for attending shows and that the money be shared with venues and artists.
In a statement provided to our TV partner Action 2 News, Mile of Music founder Dave Willems says Deja Vu had informed them of their decision 10 months ago and that a replacement venue has been found.
