TOWN OF ATHELSTANE, Wis. — An Amberg man is dead following a crash in Marinette County.
The sheriff’s office says a vehicle failed to negotiate a corner on Perch Lake Road in the town of Athelstane, struck an embankment and went airborne into some trees shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday.
The driver, 22-year-old Robert Perry, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe excessive speed and the inability to negotiate the corner were factors in the crash.
