FOND du LAC, Wis–Criminal charges are filed in connection with a Fond du Lac stabbing. Fermin Lopez-Mendoza is facing counts of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, Mayhem, Reckless Injury, and Aggravated Battery. His bond has been set at two-million dollars cash.
Lopez-Mendoza allegedly stabbed his wife with a steak knife in a town of Fond du Lac home last Saturday before fleeing the scene. The victim remains in the hospital.
District Attorney Eric Toney points out that Lopez-Mendoza is in the country illegally. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
