APPLETON, Wis–Appleton Police are involved in a standoff with an armed man. Police were initially asked to check on the man at a Northland Avenue apartment last (Tuesday) night by family members concerned about his being armed and suicidal. Upon arrival, they found that the man has left for northern Wisconsin. Assistant Police Chief Todd Freeman says the man returned to the apartment today…………
The 1200 block of Northland Avenue remains closed to traffic. Police ask that people stay away from that area.
