GRAND CHUTE, Wis–A man shot by an Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputy has died. William Nelson allegedly tried to stab people with a knife following a traffic crash along the 2800 block of West Prospect Avenue back on April 12th.
Efforts to subdue Nelson with a taser were unsuccessful. That is when Sergeant Ellis Brooks shot Nelson. He would later die from his injuries.
An investigation by the state Department of Justice into that incident continues.
