GRAND CHUTE, Wis–A witness helps a semi driver escape from her burning rig following a crash along Interstate 41 in Grand Chute. The truck struck a concrete barrier along northbound I-41 near Highway 15 around 5:30 this (Wednesday) morning.
The semi lost an axle, causing sparks which set the load of paper bales in the trailer on fire. The entire vehicle became engulfed in flames.
A semi driver following the crash scene ran to the aid of the operator of the crashed rig and got her out of the cab. Northbound I-41 reopened to traffic just before 3:00 this afternoon.
