Two people were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire at an apartment building in Shawano.
Police say a 68-year-old woman fell asleep while she was cooking on Wednesday. The fire was contained to the kitchen, and damage was minimal.
The woman and a 37-year-old neighbor went to the hospital. Two police officers went inside the building on Prairie Street, to help evacuate people.
