UPDATE: Southbound lanes of Interstate 41 have reopened at the Highway 45 interchange.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. — The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is asking drivers to avoid southbound Interstate 41 north of Oshkosh.
All southbound lanes of I-41 are closed at the U.S. Highway 45 interchange, which is reportedly causing significant backups.
Crews are repairing a failing joint on the approach to the Lake Butte des Morts bridge. The DOT says high heat caused the joint to expand.
The posted detour using highways 45 and 21 is also seeing significant delays.
It is not known how much longer repairs will take.
