Remember the old tale of the Dutch boy who puts his finger in the dike to keep the dam from failing, thus saving his town from a massive flood? Present day: the finger in the dike is now 81 years old and it’s holding back a whole different type of flood!
To follow up on last week’s article, it now looks likely that Joe Biden is going to stick it out. Yes, a questionable attempt to show how spry Joe is, how he can cognitive the heck out of the room at the same time juggling 3 bowling pins without dropping one on his increasingly shaky feet. Unless the Almighty comes down and tells Joe to whoa, nothing can keep him from his appointed round: a date with the Donald in November.
I often contemplate the question of how old is too old? I have seen a fair share of near-senile 80 and 90 yr old Congressmen and women who are at best incompetent, and at worst, an embarrassment.
At the same time, how can a young voter truly connect with someone at or over the age of 80? He or she could be old enough to be that voter’s Great Grandparent!
Father Time marches on, but time will tell if Joe continues this march.
