APPLETON, Wis. — State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jill Underly announces a portion of her proposed 2025-27 budget.
The plan includes $42 million to fund professional development opportunities for teachers, literacy coaching programs, intensive summer reading programs and high-dosage tutoring programs.
The proposal follows the implementation of Act 20, which aims to increase literacy rates among students through science-based early literacy instruction.
