MANITOWOC, Wis. — A former Manitowoc County sheriff’s lieutenant is accused of misappropriating funds.
David Remiker is charged in Manitowoc County Court with misconduct in office.
According to the criminal complaint, an investigation into Remiker started after he allegedly stole a seat cover from the Oshkosh Arena while attending a Wisconsin Herd game in January.
While on administrative leave, Remiker’s handling of money used for undercover drug buys was audited and reportedly came up more than $5,000 short.
More money that should have been kept as evidence was allegedly found in his desk.
Remiker retired in January. He faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
