APPLETON, Wis. — One person is in custody following a welfare check in Appleton.
Police were called to an apartment in the 2400 block of N. Bay Street around 3 p.m. Friday to find an individual with a gun.
The complex was evacuated while officers tried to negotiate with the suspect.
After several hours of negotiations, officers entered the unit and took the suspect into custody.
No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
