APPLETON, Wis–Air Wisconsin announces layoffs at its hubs in Appleton and Milwaukee. A notice to the state Department of Workforce Development details a loss of 513-positions, 219 of which are in management, and 294 in the rank-and-file.

Air Wisconsin recently announced it would no longer operate regional flights for American Airlines. Company officials say they are in talks with other carriers, and they hope the layoffs for union workers will be temporary. The elimination of the management positions is likely permanent.
The job cuts will begin at the end of March.
