TOWN OF FOND DU LAC, Wis. — One person is dead following a police shooting in Fond du Lac County.
Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 6300 block of Cherrywood Drive in the town of Fond du Lac Monday evening for an individual with a felony warrant.
The person allegedly refused to follow commands from deputies, forcing one of them to discharge a non-lethal weapon. The individual then displayed an apparent firearm, forcing another deputy to shoot at them.
The person was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. No one else was hurt.
The involved deputy has been placed on administrative assignment per agency policy.
The state Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation.
