TOWNSHIP OF EMPIRE, Wis. — A man is in custody following a shooting incident in Fond du Lac County.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the township of Empire around 1 a.m. Monday on the report of a 40-year-old Fond du Lac man firing a handgun into the tire of a vehicle. Two people were in the vehicle at the time.
The suspect left the scene before deputies arrived but was taken into custody during a traffic stop shortly after.
No one was hurt.
Investigators say there had been an altercation prior to the incident and the suspect knew the people in the vehicle.
Criminal charges are pending.
