GREEN BAY, Wis. — Charges are filed against one of two suspects in the suspicious death of a Green Bay boy.
James Vanderleest is facing counts of first-degree reckless homicide, obstructing an officer and bail jumping in Brown County Court.
Those charges are in connection with the June 22 death of 2-year-old Leo Escalante following an emergency call at a home in the 100 block of Alpine Drive.
A second man arrested in the incident, Vanderleest’s father, has not yet been officially charged in this case, which remains under investigation.
