GREEN BAY, Wis. — A seagull entangled in fishing line is now flying free with help from Green Bay Metro firefighters.
Crews with Engine 8 and Truck 2 were alerted to the bird’s plight after it was spotted dangling from the roof of a building unable to free itself.
With the aid of Engine 2’s snorkel, firefighters were able to reach the seagull, wrap it in a towel and use scissors to free it from the filament fishing line.
In no time at all, the bird was freed, though not before being named “Steven Seagull” by Green Bay Metro firefighters.
