APPLETON, Wis. — Appleton and Grand Chute will now require food trucks to be inspected for fire safety.
The city and the town have drawn up a memo of understanding that their fire departments will conduct inspections on mobile food sellers that will be honored in each other’s jurisdiction.
Appleton Fire Chief Jeremy Hansen says they want to ensure that food trucks meet all safety codes…………
The fire safety inspections would be separate from required health code inspections.
Hansen adds that a number of other municipalities are interested in setting up food truck fire inspection programs as well.
