So, how’s your week going-garage edition!
Yes….I spent a fair amount of my holiday weekend cleaning out my garage. I know—exciting huh? I bet you wish you had too, right?
So, here’s the deal. I think my over 40 years in radio has made me particular about things being in the right place at the right time. Kinda like hitting CBS on time at the top of each hour. That said, I am a bit persnickety about my tools, my shop rags…..MY STUFF! If I last used my tape measure and I put it back in the tool cabinet…well, it better be there the next time I need it!
Not having kids around the house anymore helps…..three less people to mess with my stuff! What irks me though is when I need to go buy something, and upon returning home, I realize I already had one in a storage cabinet. “So, are you going to take that back to the store, since you don’t need it now?” “No….now I have an extra!”
Also, a thorough cleaning of your garage will expose needless items that probably should have been thrown before–hence my overly stuffed garbage container that was tough to roll to the curb this week. The wind chimes that no one in the neighborhood liked to hear….the garden decorations that were mangled beyond recognition or the weed control products with expiration dates from the Clinton administration!
I will say, it’s done and it’s lovely! Oh, snap—I forgot the attic!
