GREEN BAY, Wis. — A suspected Green Bay drug dealer finally has an attorney to represent him more than 14 months following his arrest.
James Grandberry has remained in the Brown County Jail that entire time, waiting on a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to try him on charges of delivery of fentanyl, cocaine and meth, along with maintaining a drug trafficking place.
Grandberry was allegedly part of a ring that was bringing drugs to the Green Bay area from Chicago last year. He has filed an interlocutory appeal, demanding the charges be dropped due to the numerous delays in his case.
The Public Defenders Office says it contacted nearly 5,700 attorneys — all of whom declined to take Grandberry’s case.
