So, how’s your week going-to mow or not to mow?
How often is too often….to mow your lawn in the fall? I would imagine it comes down to how anal you are.
Granted, I do like my yard a lot more when it’s had a haircut. Kind of like your teenager–they look better when they’re groomed! But, we have been dry in recent months, and the more sun-drenched portions of my yard are drier and the shady or downspout areas are much greener and fuller. So, while I may cut every 4 days in the spring, it’s more like every 6 or 7 days when it is dry.
Finally, we have picked up a few good rains, and the yard is showing new life. But, fall is here and half of what you’re cutting now are leaves! Again–what’s the best plan? I tend to lean towards cutting every few days because chopping up the leaves is good food for your yard, right?
And, it’s a more pleasurable experience when you keep your mower blades sharp—take them in and have someone do it for you if you can’t do it yourself.
Now, about those evening yard cutters in my neighborhood—haven’t I mentioned to you my sleep schedule???
