APPLETON, Wis. — A former member of the board of directors for the Hearthstone Historic House is accused of stealing from the organization.
Appleton police have arrested Steven Jahnke and recommend charges of felony theft.
Jahnke served as the treasurer of the group Friends of Hearthstone, Inc., which raised money for the museum.
Police will only say the amount of money allegedly taken was “substantial.”
