FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A police pursuit in Fond du Lac County results in the arrest of one man and the seizure of 2 1/2 ounces of methamphetamine Thursday morning.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a stolen vehicle traveling north on Interstate 41 near County Highway Y just before 8 a.m. The vehicle was located by a Wisconsin State trooper, who initiated a traffic stop.
After a sheriff’s deputy arrived on the scene, the suspect sped off and officers began a pursuit. The chase ended after several miles when the suspect vehicle struck an uninvolved vehicle near W. Johnson Street and I-41. The uninvolved motorist was treated for minor injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody. A search turned up meth scattered throughout the vehicle and a loaded handgun that was reported stolen out of Missouri.
The suspect, who has a criminal history dating back to 2006, is lodged in the Fond du Lac County Jail. More criminal charges are pending.
