APPLETON, Wis. — Multiple charges are filed against a Little Chute woman who was 2 1/2 times over the legal limit for intoxication when she allegedly ran over an Appleton police officer last weekend.
Twenty-one-year-old Katrina Kitzman faces seven counts, including first-degree reckless endangerment, hit and run causing injury, battery to a police officer and possession of THC.
According to the criminal complaint, Kitzman tried running over a group of people in the St. Joseph’s Church parking lot around 2:40 a.m. Saturday when she ran over the officer’s legs. She then sped off, trying to evade other officers by running stop signs and traffic signals at speeds of up to 75 mph in a 25 mph zone before police stopped her.
A THC vape pen was found in Kitzman’s purse, and her blood alcohol content tested at .218 percent. Wisconsin’s legal limit for intoxication is .08.
The Appleton police officer injured was treated at a local hospital and released.
