FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A Chicago man will spend 58 years in prison for attacking a woman with a boxcutter in Fond du Lac.
Lataye Smith is also sentenced in Fond du Lac County Court to 38 years on extended supervision for attempted-first degree intentional homicide, mayhem and aggravated battery.
Smith slashed the woman with a boxcutter multiple times inside a vehicle parked at a Fond du Lac apartment complex back in January of 2023.
