WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. — A Menasha man is facing a fifth drunk driving charge following an alleged high speed chase in Waupaca County.
The 37-year-old took off when a state Patrol trooper tried to pull him over in Outagamie County around 10:15 p.m. Monday.
The pursuit hit speeds of 100 miles an hour before the trooper broke it off for safety considerations.
The vehicle was later spotted by Flock cameras in the city of Waupaca.
When an officer and a sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the car, the driver allegedly slammed into both squad cars before taking off again.
The chase ended when the suspect ran off a street and struck a tree.
Criminal charges are pending.
