CALUMET COUNTY, Wis. — The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says a text message from a pastor looking for help is actually a scam.
The text requests the recipient purchase gift cards, with the phony priest offering to reimburse them.
The potential victims are asked to send pictures of the gift card numbers.
Anyone getting such a text should delete it and block the sender.
