APPLETON, Wis. — A longtime leader in local radio is being recognized with one of the industry’s highest honors.
Kelly Radandt, Director of Broadcast with Woodward Community Media, will be inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class.
“This honor feels surreal. I am humbled, but this recognition truly belongs to all of the incredible people who have surrounded me throughout my years here at Woodward, as well as within our community and industry,” shared Radandt.
Radandt’s broadcasting career reflects a rare blend of strategic leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to people and community. Beginning her career in sales, she joined Woodward Community Media in 1989 and quickly distinguished herself through hard work, persistence, and an instinctive understanding of radio’s role in local life. Over time, she advanced into senior leadership positions, including General Manager and Director of Broadcast, guiding teams through periods of rapid technological and industry change.
“We are thrilled that the Wisconsin Broadcasters Foundation is honoring Kelly with induction into the WBA Hall of Fame. While Kelly would be the first to credit her team, today is about celebrating her incredible career and the impact she has made alongside her fellow inductees.” shared B.J. DeGroot, Market Manager with WCM. “Kelly’s greatest strength is her heart; her passion for this industry and her connection to Northeast Wisconsin are truly unparalleled. All of us at Woodward Community Media are immensely proud of the leadership and stewardship she provides every day. This honor simply confirms what we’ve known for a long time.”
Radandt became known for her empathetic, people-first leadership style. She fosters workplace cultures that valued collaboration, professional development, and work-life balance—often ahead of industry trends. Her ability to navigate difficult decisions with fairness and transparency earned her the respect of colleagues across departments and markets. She was also a passionate mentor, helping develop countless broadcasters and managers throughout her career.
Her service to the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association includes participation on the WBA Board of Directors, becoming Board Chair in 2014. She continues her involvement through the WBA Foundation. She championed professional education, industry advocacy, and initiatives addressing the future workforce of broadcasting, including engineering development.
