(CHILTON,WI) — Some Calumet County voters will not see any names for County Board races on the April 7 ballot.
Five of the 21-districts do not have declared candidates–meaning voters will have to choose a registered write-in or put down another name.
County Clerk Beth Leary says the current political climate may be behind the lack of interest in serving on the Board.
Susan Barta is a write-in for District Five–which includes the village of Harrison. She says it took some persuasion to get her to run for office.
All of the Calumet County Board races without declared candidates have at least one registered write-in.
