(GREEN BAY) — An Appleton clinic is ordered to pay more than $380-thousand in fines for defrauding Medicare.
Apple Medical Clinic and Dr. Michael Johnson billed the federal government for things like electrical muscle stimulation, vitamin injections, and other procedures not deemed medically reasonable or necessary.
Johnson used a system called RST Sanexas neo-GEN series as a “cure” for chronic pain–advertising them as being covered by Medicare when they were not.
RST had previously been ordered to pay $1.5-million in fines for similar Medicare fraud.
