MARINETTE, Wis. — The principal of Marinette High School is facing criminal charges.
Justin Bardowski is facing misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct in Marinette County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, Bardowski struck his girlfriend in the face at the Four Seasons Resort in Pembine in October of 2022.
Prosecutors didn’t file charges until last week, saying that because Bardowski lives in Menominee, Michigan, the statute of limitations is frozen.
The Marinette School District sent a letter to parents stating that Bardowski has been placed on administrative leave while they investigate the matter and that no other details will be released.
Bardowski faces up to nine months in jail if convicted.
