(OMRO, WI) — Access to State Highway 21 in Omro will be limited starting next week.
Highway 21 will be reduced to one lane on the bridge over the Fox River–with westbound traffic having access to the bridge and eastbound traffic being detoured for 20-days.
While some residents wanted temporary traffic lights in that area, WIDOT Project Manager Bill Bertrand says that would have caused delays.
Omro residents are preparing for more impacts related to work along State Highway 21. The DOT has shortened the detour length from 39-days to twenty–which Matthew O’Boyle of Omro says is fantastic.
Crews are making various improvements along Highway 21 between Omro and Oshkosh–including installing roundabouts at three intersections. Work is expected to wrap up by the end of August.
