(MENASHA, WI) — Menasha’s mayor orders all Flock License Plate reader cameras in the city to be bagged by the close of business Tuesday.
In issuing the order, Mayor Austin Hammond says:”There’s great and genuine concerns that exists regarding privacy and how the data is accessed and shared.”
Menasha Police have issued their own statement, saying that the department had installed its own safeguards regarding the access of Flock camera data earlier this year, following alleged misuse by one of its officers.
Mayor Hammond says he’ll recommend that the contract with Flock be terminated at one of September’s council meetings.
