(APPLETON, WI) — The Community Response Fund aiding residents affected by the July 27th tornado has distributed million of dollars in assistance. However, the community foundations in charge of the fund say millions more are needed.
The fund has paid out just over $5-million to 33 local non-profits. Those funds have gone to tornado-affected household, supporting rebuilding efforts and to help other families seeking assistance.
Curt Detjen, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region, says those affected by the tornado still need help and urges people and businesses to continue donating to the community fund.
Bill Wyman, President and CEO of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation says the Community Fund needs more donations and a major gift has already been made.
Carrie Lane’s home was heavily damaged by the twister. She went to LEAVEN, one of the non-profits helping storm victims, got financial help….and more.
Kristen Kelly, with People of Progression, urges people to consider donations because the tornado cut across cultural lines.
