MENASHA, Wis. — A free community event in downtown Menasha will bring the Fox Cities together to support ongoing recovery from the July 27 tornado.
Rally for the Valley is set for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 10 p.m. The event will feature live music, comedy, storytelling, local artists and makers, food and beverages, nonprofit organizations and opportunities to support tornado recovery.
The event grew from an idea by filmmaker and Neenah native Phil Johnston to put on a show for a community still recovering from the storm.
Music begins at 2:15 p.m. with Rucksack Revolution, followed by Freedy Johnston at 3:10 p.m., featuring Butch Vig and Duke Erikson of Garbage. Lolo takes the stage at 4 p.m., followed by Kami at 4:50 p.m. Hang Ten and Cory Chisel perform at 5:45 p.m., Fountains of Wayne takes the stage at 7:15 p.m., and Soul Asylum closes out the music lineup at 8:45 p.m. Comedy and hosted programming will feature Charlie Berens and Phil Johnston.
Rally for the Valley will connect donors directly with three local nonprofits serving different recovery needs: LEAVEN, Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity and Pillars.
