WINNECONNE, Wis–Winneconne Area School Board Clerk Kari Flagg releases her evidence for refusing to certify recall petitions filed against two fellow board members. Flagg claims that the organizers of the recall effort against School Board President Kati Calewarts and Vice President Dean Ackman turned in their campaign registration and intent to circulate petitions form to former District Administrator Peggy Larson instead of directly to her, as required by state elections law.
Flagg further claims that because she did not personally receive the documents, she could not verify how the registration transaction was completed. She argues that means the 60-day signature collection period never actually started.
Flagg also alleges that it was illegal for Larson to accept the forms. The recall organizers have filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
