(LITTLE CHUTE, WI) — Fox Valley Metro Police say they have investigated a complaint about an alleged child predator in Little Chute.
A group called Predator Poachers Illinois posted on Facebook last week that it had tracked down a man involved in illegal on-line activities to the Fox Cities back in August–and contacted the department to conduct an investigation. The post claims that their calls to Fox Valley Metro were not responded to–and that the suspect is still moving freely in the community.
In their statement, FVMPD says they did investigate the suspect and that the case has been referred to the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges. The statement adds that Fox Valley Metro does not work with independent groups in investigating child sex crimes, as those groups often use techniques that would put evidence at risk of not being admissible at trial.
